Procedure of the lesson

T: Today we have very interesting and unusual lesson. And the topic of our lesson is……oh, it’s a secret for now. I want you to guess the topic.
Look at the blackboard, you can see a puzzle. Your task is to complete it and guess the topic. (The puzzle is the picture of Queen Elizabeth II)
Children complete the puzzle and name the topic of the lesson. Next they try to get to know some information about the Queen. They should match questions and answers.

Dividing into groups
Teacher divides pupils into two groups: The Rose and The Crown. Pupils work in groups during the whole lesson, gathering and completing the information about Queen Elizabeth.

Royal Family of Elizabeth II
The British Royal Family is over 1.000 years old. Queen Elizabeth is the fifty-fourth monarch. The Queen lives in Buckingham Palace in London.
On November 20, 1947, the Queen married Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
They have got four children: Prince Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward. Queen Elizabeth II has got eight grandchildren. Her eldest son is Prince Charles. He has got two sons from his marriage to Princess Diana. Their sons are Prince William and Prince Harry. In 2011, Prince William married Catherine Middleton.

The Queen’s house
The Queen lives in Buckingham Palace, in London. It is beautiful and big building. It’s got 600 rooms, 78 bathrooms, 300 clocks. There is also a large table for 60 people.
The Queen and her family live on the second floor of the palace. The Queen has her office in the palace. The palace like a small town has a police station, a hospital, two post offices, a movie theatre, a swimming pool and two sports clubs. There is also a large garden with beautiful flowers and a lot of trees. There is also a queen’s gallery with interesting paintings. About 400 people work at the palace.
When the Queen is in the palace the flag flies.

The Queen has breakfast at 8.30 in her private dining room. She usually has just toast and marmalade with more tea or coffee. She likes to read British newspapers and letters. At 9 o’clock she usually listens to the radio. At 9.30 she starts her work.
The Queen meets her guests at 11 o’clock in the morning. The Queen and Prince Philip have lunch together at 1 o’clock. After lunch she walks in the palace garden with her dogs. Sometimes she visits some official events or parties in the afternoon. Every day at 5 o’clock in the afternoon she has a cup of tea with some sandwiches or cakes.
In the evenings she likes to watch TV or complete puzzles. And she also works with the documents.
She has dinner at 7 o’clock in the evening.
The Queen is not a late-night person, so she usually go to bed at 11 o’clock.
Children are speaking about Queen’s day, one by one.
Finally, they finish completing the information in their minibooks.
